cards replace the original ve-card hand and are dupli- cated in all hands. The game then draws two additional cards per hand. Each hand is drawn from a unique deck, just like in regular multi-hand poker. There is quite a vari- ety of poker favorites in Chase the Royal, including Jacks or Better Poker, Bonus Poker, Bonus Poker Deluxe and Double Bonus Poker. This game purports to yield more than four times the number of Royal Flushes as traditional draw poker—a really good reason to play!
If you’re a dedicated slot gamer, then these new, fun and exciting video poker plays are a great intro to the video poker world. They’re hard to resist! And if you are a video poker player, you’ll love the added fun of the new face of video poker!

Triple Play Poker game with the Mini-Me bonus, a dealt three-of-kind gets six free additional pairs of three- of-a-kinds with their own bonus pay schedule! You have a chance not only to advance the original three Triple Play Poker hands, but also the six new hands! In the Ten Play Draw Poker Number Two bonus, any time three suited to a royal ush are dealt, the voice of Number Two (Robert Wagner) states, “I have a business proposition for you,” and gives the option of trading your ten active hands for 50 hands, all holding the same three suited cards. Forty extra hands for free—all for a shot at a Royal!
How will dyed-in-the-wool video poker players like this game? I predict that the fun movie theme aside, IGT game designers have left the best features of traditional video poker and added exciting and potentially very rewarding bonus rounds from some of the new poker games where gamers chase Royals that will have players lining up for this game (and more like it—soon to follow!).
Even before the advent of this groundbreaking video poker themed product, the popular video poker machine already had a fun transformation this year with IGT-Action Gaming’s Double Pay PokerTM, and Chase the RoyalTM. These clever video poker variations give players even more
opportunity to use their knowledge, experience and skill to make choices for increased winnings. In Double Pay Poker, Triple Play, Five Play and Ten Play games give play- ers the opportunity to draw to improve their hands and get paid twice—once for what they are dealt, and again for their ’improved” hand! A winning hand also activates the Double Up® Double-or-Nothing bonus feature. Press
“Yes” and the game deals one card face up for the dealer and four face-down cards for the player. Choose one of the facedown cards and if this card beats the dealer, you win double the amount won in the previous hand and the option to try Double Up again. And, if you like to set your own pace, there’s a “Turbo” button for increased game speed.
Chase the RoyalTM, which took second place in the most innovative game cate- gory this year at the Amer- ican Gaming Summit 2002 awards competition, gives players the opportunity to trade cards when a pair of jacks, kings, or queens is dealt (with the maximum bet on all hands). If you go for the exchange, three cards are dealt from a sin- gle-suit deck of ten through ace “seed” cards in pursuit of a Royal Flush. The three
