Jun Polistico. Known as the Philippines’ top balladeer, Mr. Polistico makes his San Diego debut on September 8th at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Polistico mixes his own stylings of vocal classics with incredible impersonations of the greats—Sinatra, Mathis, Nat King Cole and even Elvis! He also includes Tagalog and Visayan favorites. The Quiet Storm, one of San Diego’s popular bands, opens the live concert event titled “A Golden September.” Also appearing is the popular hip-hop dance troupe, Culture Shock.
Viejas Casino
Viejas Casino features great headlining acts for its “Concerts in the Park” series in Viejas’ 1,500-seat outdoor theater. Concerts run from June through September, and this year included Blondie, Natalie Cole and George Benson, Chicago and the biggest draw of the series, Bill Cosby, coming on September 21st. Viejas Casino also features (weather permitting) a nightly free sound and light show called “Night re: The Legend Endures,” a spectacular multimedia presentation using
music, laser and strobe lights, fountains, reworks, fog, multi-screen projection, special effects and a live actor, the eighteen-year old hero of the story. This is a riveting extravaganza that depicts a magical, traditional Indian legend and is well worth seeing.
Harrah’s Rincon Casino and Resort
The newly opened Harrah’s Rincon Casino and Resort has an unbelievable schedule of entertainment available only to its player’s club patrons (better get those cards!).
