Learn to get the player rewards you deserve when you read this month’s cover story on Southern California casinos’ fantastic comps!
The “Queen of Comps,” Jean Scott, also shares a few tips about player’s club hosts, and why you may want to meet one. The feature begins on page 12.
Just as we went to press, we learned that the biggest slot jackpot in California’s history — $12,014,971 was won on July 17th at Thunder Valley Casino outside of Sacramento! O.K., you weren’t the winner, but who knows what the future holds? Read about the big win on page 6.
As we keep you abreast of all the huge jackpot wins and record progressives waiting to be won, keep a few things in mind. Many really big jackpot winners’ stories are the same. They put a limited amount of money in the slot machine and within a short period, they win. Winning is all in the timing — like everything else in life — being at the right place at the right time. It’s luck, pure and simple.
On a sad note, we lost a good friend in July — one of our contributing writers, Andrew N. S. Glazer. His passing is a great loss for the poker world and for all of us at the Southern California Gaming Guide. We celebrate Andy’s work on page 19.
Meanwhile, stay cool and enjoy August — and wager wisely and have fun at the casinos!
