From the Publisher...
B y the time you read this issue, we will have results of our November 2nd election. We will know the course of our country and our state on
many issues, including gaming in California. As we went to press before the end of October, we can’t report or comment about election results. So this month we have focused on congratulations and celebrations.
is is our second annual Best of Southern California Gaming issue! We read the record-breaking number of your completed surveys and had your votes tallied.
e 2004 results begin on page 11. Congratulations to all casino and slot maker winners of our 2004 Best of Southern California Gaming! And thank you — every one of you — who took the time to ll out surveys online and by post. Read on page 13 about the lucky readers who won our exciting contest prizes!
In the spirit of the anksgiving season, we share the news of California’s Indian Tribes’ community sharing on page 9. is outpouring of charity to tribes’ communities happens all year long, and is often forgotten in the political race to extract a “fair share” from Tribes with casinos.
And nally, check out page 17 for some of our tips for exciting holiday gaming gifts this year!
On behalf of our sta I thank you all — our readers and advertisers—for your comments, suggestions, and your support every month of the year! Meanwhile wager wisely, and have fun at the casinos!
