VIDEO POKER POWER
...Continued from page 17
World Series of PokerTM Final Table BonusTM
Poker! e thoughts of staying in the action for that last card, nishing that ush, and the dreams of winning a huge pot or a seat on a famed tournament can make many hearts pound! And now a marriage of poker and video poker in one incredible, thrilling slot!
WMS Gaming has created a hot, new video poker game based on the legendary World Series of PokerTM (WSOP). e WSOP is unequalled by any other poker event in the world today. e 36-year old event has grown exponentially in the last few years. In 2003, 800 people signed up for the tournament. In 2005,
5,619 people played, and winner Joseph Hachem from Australia won the World Series of Poker Champion
title and $7,500,000 in prize money!
e WSOP satellite events have already started for
the 2006 tournament. See Poker Plays on page 11 for the nal satellite events at Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort, and follow the excitement up to the nal events at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & casino in Las Vegas from June 25–August 10, 2006.
WMS’s World Series of PokerTM Final Table BonusTM Multi Game video poker slot captures the thrills of the nal tournament event table. Initially available only at
Harrah’s casinos — including Southern California’s Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort—look for this thrilling game in the next few months.
Final Table Bonus uses standard ve-card draw games such as Jacks or Better or Deuces Wild Poker (also 4 of a Kind Poker, 2x4 of a Kind Poker, 4x4 of a Kind Poker, Joker Poker, Multi-Pay Poker), with a built-in bonus.
How it works: In addition to the video poker hand, players will see a two-card hand at the top center of the game’s screen. Any time those two cards are a pair of Jacks or Better, you move on to the Final Table Bonus!
At the nal table, you start o in 10th place and work your way up by winning hands of (what else?) a Texas Hold’em elimination tournament against nine animated competitors. e graphics and sounds are fantastic and the excitement is sure to mount!
On your rst hand at the nal table, one of your choices will be the two-card hand that got you to the bonus. Since that’s always at least a pair of Jacks, you can choose to start with that. e rest of the hand is then dealt. If your hand beats an onscreen opponent, you move up to ninth place, and you get to play another hand, starting with a choice of two fresh two-card hands.
When you lose, the bonus round is over. But the more hands you win, the higher you move up in the standings, and the bigger your bonus. If you win nine hands in a row, you become the World Series of Poker champion, earning a huge bonus — as high as 3,250 credits. But, the BadBeat Jackpot awards a whopping
50,000 credits, when you lose a hand with “4 of a Kind” or better.
