was the largest field of players I had ever worked my way through. However, it was frustrating that the opponent that ultimately beat me was myself. I had run out of stamina.
When I told Annie Duke my sob story, she reminded me that she always steps up her gym routine during the WSOP. And now I remember her brother, Howard Lederer talking about how he
would sleep until right before a tournament, so that he would be fresh 12 hours into it.
Next time you want to ignore a poker tip about staying in shape, mind-body connection and the need for stamina, don’t. I know for my trip to the WSOP this year, a few new things are going to be added on to mytodolistafter“RereadHarrington,Volumes1–3”: Eat healthy, take a long walk and show up well-rested.
