Ford Trucks Red, White & Blue Balloon Festival at Fantasy Springs

ook up in the sky it’s a bird, a bee, a bunny, a tree, a moving van?! A fantastic event for the entire family is coming back to the Coachella Valley on January 5th–7th.  e second annual Ford Trucks Red, White & Blue Polo & Balloon Festival features 17 special-shaped balloons
and 40 race balloons, making it the third-largest special-shape balloon festival in the U.S.
Of the 17 special shaped balloons, attendees will see the Energizer Bunny, an eagle, the Alta Dena Dairy  ying cow “Airabelle”, two bees, a beaver, a football, a soccer ball, a United Van Lines moving van, Noah’s
Ark, a daisy, Woodrow the Tree and many more.  e average height of these balloons is nine stories tall!  e Energizer Bunny balloon is taller than the Statue of Liberty with a head bigger than the heads of the
Presidents on Mount Rushmore.
Festivities will begin on Friday, January 5th at 3 p.m.,
when more than 50 hot-air balloons will take o  to start the Balloon Festival from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino launch  eld. At 4 p.m. a post-launch party will carry over to the Rock Yard with live music.
On Saturday morning, January 6th, the balloons will take o  at 6:30 a.m. from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Attendees are invited for breakfast and music as the balloons lift o . At 10 a.m., 12 noon and 3 p.m. polo games will be played at the Eldorado Polo Club. And from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. all  fty balloons will be tethered as they light their burners to create an awe-
inspiring evening light show. Guests are invited onto the  eld where they can walk among the illuminated balloons.
On Sunday, January 7th, the balloons will be at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino for a balloon launch at 6:30 a.m. At 3 p.m. a country western band and western cookout begins, and the balloon glow from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Eldorado Polo Club 50th Anniversary Polo Games will be played at 12 noon and 2 p.m., with a  fty-horse polo pony charge at 1:30 p.m.
Admission is free to all weekend events with a suggested donation to bene t the families of service men and women serving overseas from Twenty Nine Palms Marine Corp Base. Suggested donation is $10 per family.
