CTelebrating Five Years of the Gaming Guide!
his month we celebrate our fth anniversary. Five years ago this month we began publishing the Gaming Guide— rst as a San Diego monthly, and within six months, in response to reader requests, we expanded to the Southern California Gaming Guide, to include news and information of all tribal government casinos in
Southern California. At that time we also expanded our distribution throughout Southern California to include Los Angeles County, the San Fernando Valley, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, and of course, San Diego County. And ve years later we have a growing readership of well over 450,000 monthly.
In the next few months, look for new features and cover stories, an expanded web site later in the year, and more pages lled with casino news and information. We look forward to bringing more readers the best of Southern California gaming news for many more years.
is month we feature Dining at the Casinos, including the 2007 Buffet Guide that lists all Southern California casino bu ets, their highlights, hours and prices. Southern California casinos have award-winning dining and bu ets—and an amazing variety of food choices for casino players. e feature starts on page 16, and the 2007 Casino Bu et Guide is on page 18.
In February, hearts turn to Valentine’s Day, and Southern California casinos are celebrating with special meal and menu o erings, promotions and giveaways. See page 8 for some exciting casino Valentine’s Day specials we learned about at press time.
Also, this month brings the celebration of the Lunar New Year—this year, the Year of the Boar, which is said to be a year of benevolence and abundance. Asian tradition says the Boar is the symbol of great courage and integrity. Some area casinos will celebrate the Lunar New Year with spectacular events. Read on page 14 for the Lunar New

In just a few months it will be tax time, and if you’ve won any big jackpots this year, and I hope you did, you’ll
want to know about ling the W-2Gs you received from the casino. The Frugal Gambler, Jean Scott, tells us about gambling and taxes on page 6.
Next month, look for more exciting news and features—and let us know what else you would like to see in your favorite gaming magazine. As always, wager wisely and have fun at the casinos!
