SOan Diego Music Awards at Viejas Concerts In The Park
n September 17th the San Diego Music Awards, featuring live performances from Jason Mraz, Reeve Oliver, Buck-O-Nine, Lady Dottie and the Diamonds, The Truckee Brothers, Pierce the Veil, and others will take place at Viejas Casino’s Concerts In The Park.
Schools, something that is not o ered anywhere else in the country. Since the Taylor Guitars for Schools program began, 1,271 Baby Taylor guitars have been donated to schools throughout San Diego County.

For the past sixteen years, the San Diego Music Awards has raised much needed funding for elementary
school music education programs.
 e San Diego Music Awards provide funds that
are used to purchase instruments for school music programs. Over the years, this has allowed school districts to buy less expensive instruments like  utes, clarinets, and violins. In 1999, the focus changed and the San Diego Music Awards Foundation teamed
COasino Pauma Plans Resort Expansion
n August 9th the Pauma Band of Mission Indians in San Diego County and the Foxwoods Development Co. described plans for a 23-story hotel with other amenities on nearly 66 acres.  e details of the proposed resort casino were made public after an
environmental impact study was  led in San Diego County.
 e proposed project will be in the same location where Casino Pauma now stands.  e proposed 110,000-square-foot casino would start out with 2,000 slot machines, 50 table games and 10 poker tables.  e 330,000-square-foot hotel would have
400 rooms. Other facilities would include a spa, pool, 33,600-square-foot hall for banquets and concerts, and a 33,600-square-foot conference center. If
construction were to begin in late 2007 as planned, the resort could be built by 2009.
 e Foxwoods Development Co. is a company of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, which owns Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. Foxwoods has a contractual relationship with the Pauma Band of Mission Indians to build and manage a new casino.
