Celebrating Eight Years!
Eight years ago in February 2002, we began publishing the Southern California Gaming GuideTM. is year we celebrate with our new, expanded web site at www.TheGamingGuide.com. Check it out to see our new look, and browse all the resources, including mapped directions to all California Indian casinos, a special section on the Southern California Gaming Guide featured casinos and slots, the online version of the monthly Southern
California Gaming Guide, news, and lots of new features. Our new site is the de nitive Casino Guide for California. Meanwhile, I thank you, our readers and advertisers, for making the Southern California Gaming Guide the trusted resource and guide for Southern California gaming. In the past eight years, the Southern California
Gaming Guide has grown, and now is read by well over 450,000 casino players each month from Ventura County, Los Angeles County, including the San Fernando Valley, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, San Diego County and all the way to the Imperial Valley.
Our goal this year is to deliver readers continuing information about the things that matter most to you in choosing a casino to play: value and exciting opportunity. Southern California casinos know that casino players are discerning about how they spend their entertainment dollars, seeking value with longer play for their pay— and looking for more opportunities to win during their visits. Casino players will continue to see more exciting casino promotions with opportunities for more players to win more often.
And as winning is one of our favorite subjects, this month we feature Winners Winners Winners! We had so many winners to choose from that we decided to break precedent and make this month’s cover feature, on page 18, largely pictorial. We hear from so many of you, wishing your photos were on our Winners page, that we knew you would enjoy the smiling and sometimes shocked faces of these recent jackpot winners!
Tax time is close at hand, and this year we feature contributing writer, Gail Anders’ article on Tax Prep. On page 27 read about keeping a casino play logbook and making sure you get win/loss statements from your favorite casinos.
is year the calendar o ers two auspicious holidays, both on the same day. On Sunday, February 14th, celebrate both Valentine’s Day and the beginning of the Lunar New Year, 2010 being the Year of the Tiger. Casinos mark these holidays with exciting promotions, delicious and romantic dining, and fun giveaways. See page 16 for more information.
During 2010 look for new features and cover stories, and more casino news and information. We look forward to bringing more readers more Southern California gaming news for many more years. Continue to let us know what you would like to see in your favorite gaming magazine in upcoming issues.
As always, remember to keep your play fun, and wager wisely at the casinos.
