Bryan Devonshire Wins $114,975 WSOP Circuit Championship Prize

or 40 consecutive years the World Series of Poker® (WSOP) has been the biggest and most
prestigious event in the world. Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort hosts California’s only World Series of Poker Circuit event.
Bryan Devonshire (pictured right) has been playing in WSOP events for nearly seven years. And he has cashed six times. e rst two times he nished in the money and took second place
on both occasions. e prize money Devonshire earned in those tournaments was impressive, but nishing second comes nowhere close to the thrill of the top prize.
at all changed on March 30th at Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort. Devonshire earned his breakthrough victory and won Harrah’s Rincon’s 2010 WSOP Circuit Main Event Championship and collected the top prize worth $114,975. Devonshire was also presented with his rst gold and diamond ring, commemorating the victory. Plus he was also presented with a $10,000 seat into the WSOP Main Event, coming up this July. A 28-year-old poker pro, Devonshire is originally from Arcadia, CA but now lives in Las Vegas. He’s also known as “Devo” in poker circles. His live tournament winnings now total more than $1.1 million.
e $5,000 (+150) buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament won by Devonshire was played over two consecutive days during March 29th and 30th. e tournament began with 70 players. All but the nal nine players were eliminated on Day One. Final Table play began on a Tuesday afternoon. Devonshire staged
a late rally after being behind the chip leader during the entire nal table. He was never seriously low on chips. Despite the outcome, he later acknowledged his nal opponent was a superior heads-up player, which caused him to adjust his strategy. Devonshire decided to take a few added risks in heads-up play, which paid o handsomely, to the tune of $114,975. is was Devonshire’s rst WSOP-related victory and rst gold ring win.
