From the Publisher...
AENew Year and a New Look
very year we make changes to the Southern California Gaming GuideTM, and this month, those for 2011 are obvious. We have a new look! We’ll be celebrating 10 years of publishing in February, and we decided the rst month of the new year would be a great time to unveil a new design. You
may have noticed that the newspaper is a bit shorter. And we have a new logo design. You’ll still nd
the Southern California Gaming Guide has all your favorite columns and features and of course, can
still be picked up in all the same locations. Let us know what you think about our new design changes. is month’s feature is lled with lucky winners. We knew that the last few months of 2010 had made a lot of lucky
Southern California casino players very happy with loads of slot jackpots and incredible car and cash promotion wins. Starting on page 18, you can see just some of the winners of fabulous slot jackpots and luxury and specialty cars at featured casinos. Every month we showcase a selection of the latest winners at your favorite casinos on our Winner’s page. Will you be one of the next lucky winners?
On page 17, read about new games at award-winning Barona Resort & Casino, voted Luckiest Casino by you, our readers, in the 2010 Best of Southern California Reader’s Choice Awards. To celebrate the New Year, Barona is o ering more ways for players to win with certi ed loose slot machines and exciting new games and progressives that are the rst to debut at any Southern California casino.
I can’t think of a better way to start o the New Year than with some fun tips for attracting luck. Writer and casino player, Gale Anders, shares some superstitions about Luck in the New Year on page 33.
Last month we wrote that we are looking for some enthusiastic slot players who can tell us what slots and slot information they want to see each month in the Southern California Gaming GuideTM. We heard from a number of casino players and we’re sorting through every e-mail, phone call and note. If you haven’t heard from us yet, know that we’ll get back to you all this month. anks for your responses...and for your patience.
We have a great year of issues planned for 2011 with lots of exciting features and news. Our sta , contributors and I wish you a fantastic 2011. May you have good health, good luck, and may all your casino dreams come true.
Always remember to wager wisely, and keep your play fun at the casinos!
