t was a de nitely a “dog day afternoon” at Harrah’s Rincon personality and owner of Vic Salazar Communications. Judges Casino & Resort on April 17th. A total of 26 dogs vied for for the event were: Beverly Pink Wolfe, co-owner of Pink’s the title of San Diego County’s “Hottest Dog” at a charity Hot Dogs; Janet Beronio, Senior Vice President and General
fundraiser held on behalf of the San Diego Humane Society & SPCA. Dressed in some of their most creative costumes, the decked-out doggies and their owners got to strut their stu  on the runway set up in the Pavilion. At the end of the day, the judges selected Tofu, a miniature poodle costumed as a panda, as the Hottest Dog in San Diego County. Tofu’s owner, Holly Pharris of Norco, received an overnight stay at Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort, dinner for four at Pink’s Hot Dogs at Harrah’s Rincon, $100 in Petco gift cards, and a trophy to commemorate the victory. Holly Pharris’ standard poodle, China, took  ird Place honors; while Patches, owned by Janet Johnson, Jackpot, owned by Shelly Birmingham, and Buttercup owned by Genevieve Macaraeg captured Second, Fourth and Fifth Place prizes.

Manager of Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort; Renee Harris, Executive Vice President of Animal Services, San Diego Humane Society & SPCA; Laura Groch, Sta  Writer for the North County Times; Ellen Brown, Account Executive, Anderson Marketing; Bambi Johnson, Finance Manager and winner of the Harrah’s Rincon Loves Pets Photo Contest, Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort.
All contestants paid a $20 entry fee to the San Diego Humane Society & SPCA. In addition, Harrah’s Rincon and Pink’s Hot Dogs contributed $2,500 each to the Humane Society to assist them in supporting the cause of animal welfare in San Diego County.
