TCabazon Band of Mission Indians Supports Charities with Golf Tournament

SOan Manuel Band of Mission Indians Donates $50,000 to Senior Center
A long-time supporter of the Highland Senior Center, the Tribe’s donation is an outgrowth of the cultural value the Tribe places on elders.  e Highland Senior Center serves approximately 3,900 seniors each year and provides transportation to 450 home-bound seniors who rely on the center to connect them to medical and dental services.
“Like many cultures, the Serrano Indians revere and look to elders not only for insight into the past but direction for tomorrow,” said San Manuel Tribal Chairman
 e senior center, which is near the San Manuel reservation, has forged strong ties with the Tribe over its decades of service. Elders from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians have been members, and currently, San Manuel’s elected treasurer,
Audrey Martinez, serves on the center’s board of directors.  e Tribe had previously provided funds for the purchase of a vehicle and in past years provided donations to support programs.

 e Drive Against Hunger Golf Tournament will be held on Friday April 20th at Eagle Falls Golf Course.  e cost is $125 per person. Entry fee includes golf, a boxed lunch, and the after-tournament party at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
