SIanta Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation Honors Non-Profits
n November 2012, in celebration of Native American Heritage Month, and to focus on the
importance of philanthropy, the third annual Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation Dinnerhonored veSantaBarbaraCountynon-pro tsfortheircontributionstothecommunity. Ynez Valley  erapeutic Riding Program received the
 e  ve Santa Barbara County non-pro ts that received $5,000 apiece in service awards were the Community Environmental Council, Arts Outreach, the Casa Esperanza Homeless Shelter, the Santa Ynez Valley Therapeutic Riding Program, and American Indian Health & Services.
“Our annual foundation dinner gives us an opportunity to recognize the groups that make signi cant contributions throughout Santa Barbara County, and it provides a great opportunity for non-pro ts to win a little extra money and network with the in uential leaders in our community,” said Veronica Sandoval, Administrator for the Santa
Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation.
Community Environmental Council received the Community Enhancement and Environment Award for its mission to identify, advocate and raise awareness about the most pressing environmental issues that a ect the Santa Barbara region. Arts Outreach garnered the Culture and Recreation Award for its dedication in providing education and experiences in the visual, literary, performing, and musical arts to the students of Santa Ynez Valley, Los
Alamos and Lompoc schools.

individuals achieve self-su ciency by helping as many as possible gain access to the services they’ll need to transition

TMorongo Band of Mission Indians Donates $100,000 for Holiday Giving
he Morongo Band of Mission Indians teamed up again in 2012 with the non- Ontario Toys ’R’ Us store. Among the children participating in the program were pro t Christmas Cheer All Year to brighten the holidays for 1,500 Inland Empire 450 San Gorgonio Pass and Coachella Valley youth, including dozens of children children with an annual shopping spree at Toys ’R’ Us in Ontario. in protective care with the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services
