Bill Burton: About Gambling
MIanaging Your Casino Bankroll
f we were all as rich as Warren Bu et, we probably wouldn’t have to worry too much about money. However, most of us do not have the luxury of an unlimited supply of cash, so we must make the most of what we have. is means we have to budget, and limit the money we spend
Your Casino Bankroll
When you head to the casino to play, take only the money for that gambling session that you planned. If you are going to play table games, do not buy in for the full amount you have for that session. Instead, buy in for half or less. We have all had times where we just couldn’t win at a particular table. By buying in for less than your full session amount, it will give you a good breaking point. Instead of reaching in your pocket for more money, take a break or change tables.
If you are a slot player, play only small denomination bills in the machine. If you have $100 for your playing session, don’t put a $100 bill into the machine. Instead, it’s better to get ve $20 bills and use them to play, one at a time. If you don’t have any luck with your rst $20, take a break or switch machines.
By using less than the full amount of money you allocated for your playing session, it will force you to stop and think. is will help you slow down and not get caught up in a playing frenzy. It is sort of a forced discipline to keep you on your budget.
When You Win
When you win and get ahead during your playing session, don’t forget to lock up a pro t. Take some of your winnings and set them aside to bring home. ere is nothing worse than winning money at the casino and then playing it all back. Some players feel that when they win, they are playing with the casino’s money. However, once you win, it becomes your money.
Have fun!
