n December, Barona Resort & Casino installed a multi-million dollar air ltration and puri cation system to further enhance indoor air quality at the award-winning casino. e rst-of-its-kind system features a V-PACTM Photo-catalytic Air Cleaning System manufactured
by Ultra Violet Devices, Inc. (UVDI) and engineered and installed by Synergy Environmental. As a result, Barona now has the cleanest air of any casino in the country.
“We take great pride in always having the best technology available and after extensive research and testing, we have found the most advanced air ltration and puri cation system on the market today,” said Rick Salinas, General Manager of Barona Resort & Casino. “ e powerful combination of UVDI’s V-PAC system and Synergy’s engineering expertise provides Barona with cleaner air, and we are very excited for our guests and sta to experience the results.”
Barona had tested the UVDI V-PAC air cleaning puri cation system for several months in the casino’s O - Track Betting Room. An independent air quality testing

company, Western Environmental Services, was brought in to measure the results and con rmed that the V-PAC system was extremely e ective in reducing Volatile Organic Compound concentrations to extremely low levels and also highly e ective in handling spikes caused by cigarette contaminants.
To maximize the bene ts of the V-PAC air puri cation system, Barona also took steps to signi cantly increase the air circulation throughout the casino. Recently, 150 perforated air returns in the casino were replaced with technologically advanced louvered returns that increased air ow by 66 percent.
