Pechanga Charity Golf Classic Raises Over $100,000 for Vital Nonprofits
echanga Resort & Casino hosted the Pechanga Charity Golf Classic, a two-day charity golf tournament in late August, that raised more than $100,000 for the Semper Fi Fund, School on Wheels, Operation SafeHouse, and United Friends of the Children.

For over 16 years, the Pechanga Charity Golf Classic has brought together Tribal government and Indian gaming industry leaders to raise nearly $1 million for vital nonpro ts throughout the region. e event has grown in recent years to two-days, and now includes more than 300 golfers on the championship Journey at Pechanga golf course.
“We deeply appreciate the work these nonpro ts do for our wounded veterans, homeless children, and young people,” said Patrick Murphy, President of the Pechanga Development Corporation. “We’re humbled to be in a position to support this important work that will lead to better outcomes for people throughout our region.
Although Iraq and Afghanistan are not in the headlines like before, we can never forget the thousands of soldiers who served and sacri ced and will need our support for decades to come.”
e Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund provides nancial support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S.
Armed Forces and their families. It directs urgently needed resources to post 9/11 Marines and Sailors, as well as
members of the Army, Air Force or Coast Guard who serve in support of Marine forces.
e mission of School on Wheels is to enhance educational opportunities for homeless children from kindergarten through twelfth grade throughout Southern California. eir goal is to shrink the gaps in their education and provide those children with the
highest level of education possible. Funding from the Pechanga Charity Golf Tournament is directed to School on Wheels’ Inland Empire programs.

CJelebrate Native American Traditions at October Pow Wows
ala Casino Spa Resort and Cops 4 Kids & Communities will sponsor a Battle of the Badges charity boxing event at 6 p.m., Saturday, October 18th, in the Pala Events Center, to bene t at-risk and underprivileged youth in Southern California. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m.
Tickets are $30 for reserved seats and $20 for general admission, and are on sale at the Pala box o ce in the casino or by calling 1-877-946-7252, with no service charge. Tickets also will be available at startickets.com or at charge- by-phone, 1-800-585-3737. For every ticket purchased by fans 21-and-over, Pala will provide $5 in added play on the night of the ght. Tables will be set up inside the Events Center for guests to redeem their free added play.

All year round, thousands of on categories of competitive dancing, but also features Tribal members and visitors travel the Pow Wow circuit in Native American settings across the country. All Pow Wows audience participation dancing open to all attendees and are open to the public and admission is free. ere may be a parking fee. Bring chairs and prepare for the sun and heat. non-competitive intertribal dancing.
