New Slots Wow!
This month we feature new super slots, all shown at the 2015 Global Gaming Expo, known as G2E, in Las
Vegas in late September. Maya Winkler, a frequent contributor, saw literally thousands of slots, and came away with a long list of games she believes will be big hits in 2016. Starting on page 16 you can read about just a few of her picks that we know will be must-play games. Each one has a unique feature, and each one, we
believe, will become a favorite of Southern California players.
ere are lots of ways to win more this holiday season at Southern California casinos, and for a start, Gaming

We’re hoping you will have the best reason to know what will happen When You Win a Big Jackpot... on page 11. But in case you’ve not won big — really big — you won’t know that there will be veri cation, paperwork, and waiting, hopefully in stunned splendor. You’ll be patient, as it will be an experience of a lifetime.
Sycuan Casino is celebrating 32 years of gaming and is giving its guests amazing ways to win more, with $500,000 up for grabs in November. Check out page 13 for the anniversary events and cash and car giveaways. National American Indian Heritage Month is celebrated every year in November to honor and recognize
the original people of this land. e rst “American Indian Day” was declared by the State of New York in 1916, but a month long recognition of Native Americans was not achieved until 1990. In that year President George H. W. Bush signed a joint congressional resolution designating November 1990 as National American Indian Heritage Month.
At the Southern California Gaming GuideTM, we have loved ones who are still serving in the armed forces all over the world, and we’d like to give special thanks and acknowledgement to them and to the memory of all armed service members on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, and especially during the holiday season. Families of service members make huge sacri ces and we hold them in gratitude and esteem.
And in the season of anksgiving, we are reminded that we have so much to be thankful for. We thank our readers and advertisers for making the Southern California Gaming Guide your continued resource for casino and slot news and information. In the spirit of the season, we wish you all a very happy holiday.
Have a wonderful anksgiving. And wager wisely and keep your play fun at the casinos!

What is Problem Gambling?
Problem Gambling, or Compulsive Gambling is a progressive illness. People who have this illness may look normal. However, when untreated, the illness can progress until it destroys you personally and financially. It can devastate your family, friends, and affect all who know you.
The Signs of Problem Gambling
Everyone needs to recognize the signs of Problem Gambling. You can help those close to you by being alert to the following danger signs:
• An inability to stop gambling.
• A fixation on anything connected with gambling. • Secrecy, lying or personality changes.
• Financial problems.
According to a major survey, problem gambling affects approximately 3.7% of the people in California. That’s almost 1 million adults in our State alone. Gambling problems can affect anyone, anywhere, anytime — regardless of age, gender or race. Problem gamblers:
• Cost the U.S. $7 billion annually due to crime, bankruptcy and addiction.
• Get arrested about 3 times as often as people without gambling problems.
• Are 2–8 times more likely to binge drink, smoke or do drugs.
• Commit suicide more than any other group of people suffering from addiction.
• Called the CA gambling helpline more than 200,000 times since 1998.
• Are unable to control their urges without getting help!
Is Problem Gambling Really That Serious?
Help is Available! Call the Problem Gambling Helpline 1-800-GAMBLER to speak to a gambling counselor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or to request FREE literature.
