OSycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation Donates Over $75,000 to Charities
n December 11th, the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation hosted the 8th Annual Holiday Gift Giving Ceremony at Sycuan Casino. Members of the Sycuan Tribal Council and Sycuan Casino Executive Board personally selected and invited 30 local
charitable organizations to attend the event. Hosted at Sycuan Casino’s Paipa’s Buffet, attendees enjoyed complimentary brunch, followed by a check presentation ceremony where each organization was surprised with a nancial donation to assist in their mission and cause. A total over $75,000 was donated during the organization’s Gift Giving Ceremony, an event that started in 2006.
“ e Gift Giving Ceremony is one of the biggest highlights of the year here at Sycuan. We are proud to empower the leaders of the Tribe, resort and the casino to make a di erence in the community,” said Cody J. Martinez, Chairman of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. “Many of the charities invited to the Gift Giving Ceremony are big partners of ours throughout the year. Others are charities that Sycuan will help for the rst time which enables us to broaden our reach in terms of charitable involvement within the San Diego community.”
