In shameless self-congratulation we’re celebrating our 200th issue this
month. In the publishing world, 200 issues is a big deal for a monthly
magazine. Since February 2002 we’ve delivered casino and slot news to
Southern California players, and reported on billions of dollars of jackpots
and hundreds of new slots. Thank you for making the Southern California
Gaming GuideTM your go-to gaming monthly. Two hundred issues of a free
publication are reached only with a large and loyal readership—and loyal
advertisers. Thank you all for your feedback, suggestions and support. In
the coming months we plan to add special features at TheGamingGuide.com,
including contests and new games. Take an online tour through our Past Issues to see the evolution of the Southern California Gaming Guide. We’re betting on 200 issues more!
This month we feature one of our two annual reader-favorite issues: Big Winners! Everyone loves winning at the casino, and likes to see who’s been winning what, where and how. This month we celebrate jackpot and promotion winners at featured Southern California casinos from the past few months. And the smiling faces you see on pages 16, 17, and 19 are just a small percentage of the big jackpot cash and promotion prize winners that have been won at featured casinos. Read about the latest news of slot jackpots and luxury car and big-ticket promotion jackpots and see the smiling and sometimes awe-struck lucky winners. And don’t forget to check out the monthly Big Winners photos on page 31.
Thanks to everyone who voted for the Reader’s Choice 2018 Best Casinos online in August. We were thrilled to see another huge voting turnout this year. We’ll announce the 2018 Best Casinos in the October issue, and we’ll announce the 2018 Reader’s Poll Drawing winners as well. Who knows, you may be one of the ten $100 winners, or the Early Bird $500 winner, or Grand Prize $1,000 cash winner! All winners will be notified either by email or telephone before October 1st.
Enjoy September’s holidays and have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. And remember, always keep your play fun at the casinos!
Celebrate Native American Day on Friday, September 28th
elebrated as a holiday in California and South Dakota, Native American Day honors Native American cultures and contributions to their respective states and the United States. In 1968, Governor Ronald Reagan signed a resolution calling for a holiday called American Indian Day, to be held the fourth
Friday in September. In 1998, the California Assembly passed a bill that made Native American Day an official state holiday. You can celebrate the day with these special events at the following casinos.
At Barona Resort & Casino, celebrate Native American Day with an 8x Club Barona point multiplier on slots, keno, and video poker all day long. If Playin’ In The Rain or Beat The Heat is active, the point multiplier becomes
13x points. If both are simultaneously active, the point multiplier becomes 18x points! See Club Barona for details. And join Sycuan Casino on Friday, September 28th to celebrate California Indian Day. Enjoy performances by
the Bird Singers and Red Eagle Dancers at 5:15 p.m. in the Bingo Hall and 6:15 p.m. in the Main Lobby.
