Sycuan recently announced that it is the first casino in California to offer Tiger Baccarat at its casino resort. A popular game in Macau and Singapore, Tiger Baccarat is a traditional non-commission Baccarat game with exciting side bets that pay up to 100 to 1. The game’s five side bets include Tiger Pair, Tiger, Small Tiger, Big Tiger and Tiger Tie. Double Hand Baccarat is dealt from a regular 52-card deck. There is no joker. The basis of the game is that players receive four cards and make two 2-card hands that play against the player- dealer’s two 2-card hands, similar to Pai Gow. There is no draw. EZ Baccarat plays as regular Baccarat except that it replaces the taking of the commission on every winning Bank hand by“barring” one specific winning Bank hand: a three card total of seven. PAGE 6 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GAMING GUIDE AUGUST 2020 s reported by the Valley Roadrunner on July 15th, the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation announced plans to break ground on their new $7 million project, Horizon Gas Station and The Pit Stop Market in Valley Center, to be located at the intersection of North Lake Wohlford and Valley Center Road. “The San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians is very excited about our newest entity, Horizon Gas Station and The Pit Stop Market,” said Steven Cope, Chairman of the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians. “It will provide many great benefits, not only to our community but surrounding communities, when it comes to fuel, grocery products and more.” “This project is the first chapter of many successful ventures for the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation and is dedicated with pride, respect and honor to the people of the San Pasqual reservation,” said Hellyaachwehay Quisquis, President/CEO of the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation. The Horizon Gas Station and The Pit Stop Market will span 8,100 square feet in Valley Center and reflect a milestone project for the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation. TLM Petro Labor Force has been named the general contractor and began working on the project July 20th with an expected completion date of early 2021. When completed, the gas station and market will be co-located, designed as one convenient stop for guests, featuring two distinctive brands. Horizon Gas Station, offers “quality fuel for less,” according to the Tribe, and will feature gas pumps with entertainment screens and other amenities. The Pit Stop Market, a mini market with a drive-through feature, will offer made- to-order food, fresh local products and a large selection of gourmet coffee, snacks and sundries. According to a statement by the Tribe, “The purpose of the project is also to extend the tribe’s high values into the entire city of Valley Center, its residents and guests. Spending a significant amount on this project is important to the tribe to ensure the building beautifully complements the area, serves its residents and makes the community proud.” The authority of the EDC was established when the San Pasqual EDC was created by a Resolution of the San Pasqual General Council. The EDC is authorized to pursue economic development activities on behalf of the tribal government and members and is charged with developing and implementing the Tribe’s long- term strategy of sustainable economic self- sufficiency.
