Sycuan Casino Resort Donates $5,000 to ALS Association
ycuan Casino Resort presented a $5,000 check in early October to the ALS Association Greater San Diego Chapter in support of their 2020 Virtual Walk to Defeat ALS. Sycuan has supported the ALS Association for more than 15 years including their Walk to Defeat ALS and
the annual ALS Golf Classic at Singing Hills Golf Resort.
“Everyone remembers the popular Ice Bucket Challenge and the impact that the challenge had on the ALS community,” said Steve Becvar, Executive Director at the ALS Association Greater San Diego Chapter. “Sycuan has supported our organization well before the Ice Bucket Challenge, during and after. Their support is unwavering and we are extremely grateful.”
The Walk to Defeat ALS draws people of all ages and athletic abilities to honor a loved one with the disease, to remember those who have passed and to show their support for the cause. This year’s
Walk to Defeat ALS was on Sunday, October 18th and went virtual to keep the health and wellbeing of the entire ALS Community as
the number one priority. “Walk Your Way”
was the 2020 event theme, referring to the many different ways people can participate virtually, while maintaining physical distances
and still raise funds to help people, families and caretakers affected by ALS.
The ALS Association is the only national not- for-profit voluntary health organization dedicated solely to the fight against amyotrophic lateral
sclerosis (often called Lou Gehrig’s disease). The mission of The ALS Association is to find a cure for ALS and to improve the lives of those living with and affected by ALS. For more information visit Alsasd.org.
