Agua Caliente Band Donates Over $15,000 to Local Charities
In August, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians donated $10,000 to the American Outreach Foundation. The Tribe also donated $5,000 to Big Brothers and Sisters of the Desert, and supported the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission Annual Backpack Bonanza, providing school supplies to children in need.
Since 2007, American Outreach Foundation (AOF) has been a force in the Coachella Valley to create positive change in the lives of many veterans, widows of veterans, single parents, low-income families and seniors. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, AOF serves the unmet needs of those dealing with any kind of impairment.
The organization focuses on specific goals helping people regardless of their age, ethnicity, gender, social status, or financial situation.
The organization strives to enhance living conditions and learning experiences, champion freedom of mobility and workforce re-entry, to erase the feeling of invisibility felt by many, and to empower a sense of well-being. American Outreach Foundation is committed to being a lasting organization people can rely on to lead the way in responding to under-served needs within the community. For more information or to learn how you can get involved, visit AmericanOutreachFoundation.com.
The mission of Big Brothers and Sisters of the Desert is to improve the lives of children by creating and supporting one-on-one mentoring relationships. Adult mentors are paired with children ages 6 to 18 and see each other 4 to 8 hours per month for a minimum of a year. Each match is hand-selected by a team based on geography and compatible interests and personality. For more information and to learn how you can get involved, visit bbbsdesert.org.
TheCoachellaValleyRescueMission(CVRM)AnnualBackpack Bonanza provides thousands of children in the Coachella Valley with the supplies they need to complete class assignments and do their homework in the coming school year. Every donation makes a difference in their lives by improving the quality of their education and instilling in them a belief in the compassion of others. For more information and to learn how you can get involved, visit CVRM.org.
