SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GAMING GUIDE
Casino Comps—Fabulous Freebies
From Your Favorite Casinos!
This month we remind you about casino player’s perks, better known in gambling parlance as “comps”—short for complementaries—so that you expand and extend your gaming experience, and take advantage
of the bene ts casinos offer their frequent players. Think of comps as you think of frequent ier miles. If you travel more than a few times a year, I bet you’re aware of, enrolled in, and use some of the great frequent ier plans airlines have. Like frequent ier miles, casinos have player’s clubs to reward players for their play, so be certain that if you play in a casino more than a few times a year, you get a player’s club card and use it when you play — all the time! Read about what some Southern California casinos offer their players, plus what the Queen of Comps, the Frugal Gambler, Jean Scott writes this month about striking a balance of use and abuse of comps (on page 11).
Our real and virtual mailboxes runneth over!
We are amazed and overwhelmed by the responses we’ve received from our First Annual Reader’s Poll in our August issue! If your completed survey was one of the rst 100 received, you will be noti ed within the next few weeks and receive your free Southern California Gaming Guide tote bag! You still have a month to enter our great prize contest, but you’ll have to do it online, as our survey was only printed in our August issue.
Next month, look for our exciting annual slot report on the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, where the newest slot machines and gaming industry advances are featured! We wish you all a safe Labor Day weekend, and, if you’re like us here at the Gaming Guide, you’re looking forward to September — the last of the summer heat and the beginning of our Southern California autumn! Meanwhile, wager wisely and have fun at the casinos!
