ISharp Grossmont Hospital Honors Barona Tribal Leader

To memorialize the contribution, Sharp commis- sioned two art works for the ICU atrium of the hospi-
tal’s new emergency and critical care center. Muralist Marshall Hall created a wall painting of LaChappa on the Tribe’s original reservation, Capitan Grande.  e Capitan Grande reservation was the home of his ancestors until they agreed to move in 1932 to help a growing San Diego build the giant Capitan Grande water reservoir. Local artist Diane Keltner created a bronze bust in the likeness of LaChappa.
