ycuan Donates $50,000 to Educational Programs

n October 8th, Sycuan contributed $50,000 to two charities that provide valuable educational opportunities in the San Diego
area and on the national level. e donation was presented at Sycuan Resort following Sycuan’s 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. During its 19 year span, Sycuan’s annual charity golf tournament has donated in excess of $750,000 to charities and non- pro ts. Last year, Becky’s House, a home for victims of domestic violence in San Diego, received $50,000.
“Sycuan is proud to provide this contribution. We know it will help a lot of young kids reach their potential in school,” said Daniel J. Tucker, Chairman of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation.
TChumash Tribe Makes $100,000 Donation
e money was given to the Southern California American Indian Resource Center (SCAIR) and the American Indian College Fund (AICF). Each received $25,000. e AICF supports more than 30 tribal colleges located in 13 states, serving more than 250 American Indian Nations from every geographic region in the country. More than 30,000 students have bene ted from
AICF’s services and nancial assistance.

Native Americans and other children in San Diego County. It provides after school courses, such as the world renowned Soaring Eagles Pow-Wow dancing program. ese courses are available to students attending the San Diego Uni ed School District in grades K through 12.
