Action Inc. was founded in 1972 by mothers in East Los Angeles who had lost their sons to gang violence. It has since grown to become the leading provider of services to high-risk and gang-a ected communities within
Southern California, o ering educational resources,
Lady’s School in San Diego received a $5,000 education grant.  e nearly 100-year-old Sherman Heights elementary school will use the grant money to purchase 14 computers, four monitors, three textbooks and 100 accelerated math products to assist with their mathematics program. Senator Ben Heso sponsored the grant for Our Lady’s School, which stands as the oldest Catholic elementary school in San Diego County serving students in preschool through eighth grade.
Since 2006, the Barona Band of Mission Indians has awarded over $2.3 million to 474 schools statewide to help bridge school budget gaps and share resources through its Barona Education Grant Program. n mid-December, Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa and Spa Resort Casino Chief Operating O cer, C.J. Graham and team members delivered holiday
spirit to the women and children supported by the non- pro t organization, Shelter from the Storm, of Palm Desert. As part of a coordinated e ort, team members from Tribal Administration and Spa Resort Casino and Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa came together in the holiday spirit to donate an assortment of gifts requested by the women and children supported by Shelter from the Storm, a non-pro t organization dedicated to comprehensive support for victims of domestic violence in the Coachella Valley.
 e Tribe and their casino properties have made donations in the past, however, 2014 was the  rst year of an all-inclusive holiday gift-giving initiative involving team members from Tribal Administration, Spa Resort Casino and Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa. The Angel Tree program collected unwrapped gifts from team members to support 88 women and children who are a ected by domestic violence.
Agua Caliente Tribal Chairman, Je  Grubbe noted, “I am extremely proud of the generosity that our team members continue to demonstrate. We received wish lists from 88 recipients but have collected over 350 gifts.”
